Well a small win for the weekend :unsure2:
I went ahead with salting the shrimp tank- used 2 flat(approx teaspoon) in the palm of my hand _ so not a real technical measurement - to 10 ltrs of tank water .
The little shrimp didn't drop dead in the water , so first hurdle cleared , I then proceeded to watch all manner of nasties get the salt shivers - little free swimming worms ,leaches and some of the snails . Turfed the foxtail fern in the bin and tied on some salted java fern to the piece of wood - so hopefully that will cure a lot of the crud that was dropping in the tank.
I even left the salt sollution in over night and not one dead shrimp the following morning-so a clean batch of water went in saturday.
I'll do it all again next weekend and that should help pick of anything that was left behind.
