I have not breed plec's yet but am Doing ok with Discus.

common trio's bristlenose x6 breed every 3-6wks

longfins bristlenose x2 breed the same as above (2x male brown 5x brown females 4x golden females)

gold pair bristlenose x1 breed 6-8 wks

I have bred nothing... not a sausage! Everyone says they are easy to breed but I have other fish breeding which are supposed to be difficult to make pairs... go figure. Maybe I should start with zebra plecos or something!

it took me 2 years to get bristlenose to breed for me
but all them have been sold and i brought some more breeding pairs and trios and they have all breed for me with in 4 wks of having them

they are easy fish to breed but i have found they are hard if they dont wont to breed at all but i am lucky now as my breed all the time

i keep my tanks upto date with water changes and feeding

Here in NZ we don't seem to have much of a selection of BN's that I'm aware of. We have regular browns, goldens and albino. I have never seen any long fins or any other varieties. I would love some really black ones with really white markings like peppermints or something. To be fair my goldens are only a few months old and have a lot of growing to do. My browns are mature enough but I have 4 males and only 1 female who seems a little frigid or something...lol Perhaps I need to pick up another couple of females... The female was looking quite rounded and I thought maybe I was in the gravy but it may have been something else. She isn't quite as large now, although not as streamlined as the males. She's been like it for about 6 weeks or more so I don't expect she would still be here if it was bloat.

My sister bought me another female yesterday and within 24 hours... breeding! My other female must have just been a bit frigid or something!
