Here is mine

Im having great sucess with my pair in a small 50 ish Litre hexi tank.
filterd with a internal fluval +3 and also a small air driven box filter with filterwool .
I have not checked the ph,kh,gh,amonia, nitrite not nitrate. so cant give readings and im confident all is ok as i used a mature filter.
Play sand subtrate and my own Oak breeding station.
the Oak station has 3 caves in one piece on the one end i have 2x 32mm holes that the male fan's both holes. the other end at 90 degrees to these holes i have a 25mm hole that the babys love to hide out in( Nursary hole).

this short video if it works will show how i have it set up.

How do you do yours?

High guys, good idea for a thread rrp1973, buy the way whats with the red lighting?
My setup consists of a 3ft tank holding approx 130ltr , 1 super keen male and 4 females, a little bit
of wood and one cave that has been taken out now( god damn fornicaters). Water parameters are
the same as yours rrp1973( no idea , I don't test it either). Other than that nothing special ,

Cheers J

Our breeding setups are basically the same, except they're in the "fish room" We have the breeding groups in their own 2ft tanks, and when they spawn, about a day before they hatch, we move the cave and dad to one of the first grow on tanks.

After a week, dad comes back out and put with his females again, and the fry stay for another coupla weeks. At this point we spread them around other grow on tanks so that if there is a problem with one tank, we don't lose all of one type.

This system may seem somewhat of a pain, but it's easier for us than trying to catch the fry from the breeding tanks, and a member of another forum we belong to did an experiment with BN fry, and found that they did better away from the parents after becoming free swimming, which justified what we're doing lol

I dont use red lighting . the color of the water is amber from the Oak cave i use. its natrual tannins and the fish seam to love it.

I only use a old desk /office light above the tank and i only switch this on when i want to check on them and for feeding times. all the rest of the time they have no lights.

I have had success breeding bristlenose in my Geophagus tank, at the moment i have 4 x L144 and 2 x L150 along with 3 x L333's in with the Aereos and dwarf neon rainbows, I find plenty of bogwood to create caves and good filtration ( Aqua one CF1200, 1 x Eheim aquaball and 1 fluval 4) encourage them, not that they need much encouragement. I also have 24 x 18 x 18 and 18x 12 x 12 tanks for fry, both with small gravel substrate and Algarde 45 sponge filters along with 2 airstones per tank,( I found out by losing some fry that they need plenty of aeration to keep them going).
Frequent water changes ( always weekly, sometimes twice a week) of 25 -30% and a varied diet, fresh veg and spirulina flake/wafers, red crumb and catfish sinkers have given me good results.
