Diet: omnivorous.... Zucc, cucumber, Sinking Pellets, Plec Tablets, brineshrimp etc are justa few of the things mine eat. Just general plec food.


Origin: South America/ River Capin / Brasil..


Temp (C): 25.0-28.0°C or 77-82.4°F


Max Size: 6.3"


Family: Loricariidae


Temperament: Pretty Peaceful, may be some territorial squabbling between males, but this is never more than a chase off. Will generally just find a place and sit about in it for a while. Gets on fine with other bottom dwellers, I keep mine with Pygmy Cories, Khuli Loaches, Otocinclus, A whiptail Cat and a pair of common bns.


pH: 6.0 - 7.0


dH: 5-12.


Care Level: Easy, same as other BNs. Keep water clean and provide plenty of shelter..

Hi curby this is not a L059 Ancistrus Hoplogenys it looks very similar but is in fact a Rio Ucayali.

thought id just let you no so you can correct some of its miss profiled post

i have a group of 5 of these the male and females are very hard to tell apart and the females nearly always have lots of tiny bristles on there lip with males being slightly bristlier.

these can grow to a size of 4.7" i have one thats grown bigger than its should 5" and the females tend to shy away from the males alot of the time .
