| Pepps dont grow that size lol....... They have so many differant pics on there and they all look different...its hard to no what to believe.... There is a breeder in middleborough called steve very well known in the bristlenose industry in fact he's selling super reds now...but he used to have L182's...and iam sure he would also clear this up... I dont no why you refer to PC because they havent been updated for donkey years... And i also find most info on there as very mis-leading...as they say pepps only grow to 4 inch but yet display a picture clearly of an L182.....after if PC say pepps only grow to 4 inch or so how come that pic is of a fish at least 10inch??? misleading or what...lets just say i wont be trusting them with my house.. _________________ Dont Forget to hit the AquaRank Logo at the top of the forum page it looks just like this.VVV........... | I think the main problem is not enough info on all pepp species.. Ive spent alot of my time reading up on pepp species like 181's 182's and 183's...all three are very much alike thats why they are in order of L-numbers...ive read more info on what i believe than not ...but this doesnt mean iam completeley ignorant to all claims..like i said i agree and disagree.. And J the article is a great read mate and why would i want to remove it?? After all we have to disagree to agree now and again... cheers... _________________ Dont Forget to hit the AquaRank Logo at the top of the forum page it looks just like this.VVV........... | Ok guys had a nice chat with the guys at Pier today regarding these little beauties and I was advised that unless you keep them in RO water forget it. The TDS, PH etc needs to be correct otherwise they will not like it and will eventually die.
Some of you may be aware of the problems Pier had a few years back when there was a meet at Pier and loads of people bought them only to find them die within a week or two. However, I am also aware a couple of others bought at the same time and had no problems.
I read lots about this before I first went to Pier and tbh it did tarnish their reputation to the point that I wondered if it was a shop I could trust. But how wrong I was. The guys at Pier are fantastic and I've never had a problem with any fish purchased there.
So when Neil tells me unless I change my water from HMA to RO please do not keep L183's I am inclined accept his request.
Anyway make of it what you will but I've done some research on the net and it does seem to the case.
Pier have lots of these for sale at £18.50 each, a mixture of Males and Females so if you are currently wanting them you know where to get them from, but be warned you need the correct water to keep them. |

| Deano, Are you saying you don't trust Steve in middlesborough? TBH I am wary of him as he promised me some supers, I arranged to meet with him, rang him to confirm a few days later and was told sorry all sold, was not at all happy. |
