PostSubject: Baby Sterbai   Thu Nov 12, 2009 6:26 pm

I was surprised to notice this morning that I have a baby Sterbai, I know it's no more than 2 months old as 2 months ago I emptied the tank, removed most of the gravel and re-laid with sand and re planted.

2 months ago I had 5 adults I now have 5 adults and a baby which is around 1/3 the size

I was not only amazed to see the little fella but shocked at its size.

I have seen the odd egg around but my BN's and discus have been eating them.

Might be time to set a separate tank up for them

bristlenose eating sterbai... lol....

how mean is that... and thats an expensive meal...

though must admit my bristlenose or closely monitored when feeding, though I have noticed one or two BN eating other less fortunate BN recently.... just part of the ecological system I am afraid.

Dont seem to get many losses, or I didnt think I did until I turned the light on recently and saw a couple of 4-5 month old
baby BN eating a few 4 week old BN.

Probably my fault as I dont have a separate grow out tank due to size of my house and wallet (being out of work and out of funds
can be a pain sometimes)

The 4-5 month old BN are about a inch in length right now so I know some breeders do tend to sell them at that length on ebay

kind regards

LJ
