I want to try and compile a LFS list........
What shops do you use and on a scale of 1-10 what would you rate them at..??

My number one shop is Pier Aquatics based in wigan...
If plecs are your thing then a huge selection is available here from Zebz to Bn's they have loads plus a huge selection of Tropical's, Cold water and marine,..

Plus the fish are very healthy i rate this place 8 out of 10....... cheers

all the fish stores around my area are terrible. they very rarely have plecos or bristlenose and when they do they are ridiculously over priced. something about them not having many suppliers. they told me once i get fry to an inch long they will offer me good prices for them so that's what i plan on doing Smile. i would currently rate them about a 5 out of 10. Sad

Opening soon in Sheffield is Blue Ocean Aquatics Ltd, it's gonna be fantastic, Wayne has been helping Sean on and of and they're even having a coffee corner with tables to keep your other half happy whilst you waltz around buying loadsa fish.

It's on a main route and closer to Meadowhall too so is a lot easier to find than his earlier shop, and some others in Sheffield.

I don't have the exact address but it is near to the snake shop. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you what exactly he will be stocking, but if you have a word with him if you go, then he may order them in for you.

He should be opening anytime soon. As soon as I find out, I'll post on here and with the full address lol

Guys withdrawning my recommendation of Swish Fish in Bradford

Although he's a nice guy I do not believe his fish are of good stock

My son purchased Cory's from him recently one died within 24 hours so we contacted the store to find no 24/48 policy in place which most shops have these days. Would not have been too bothered but my 9 year old has it own tank and purchased these from his birthday money.

I personally have just lost
2 x LDA16 Calico Longfin BN Juvies
2 x Red/Brown BN Juvies
Over the past week absolutley gutted ! Only had them just over 2 weeks also.

All fish were kept in 2 different mature quarantine tanks which i check and double check the water quality on a daily basis so I am confident no problems with the water quality. I very rarely loose fish but to buy 6 from one store and loose 5 of them all within 2 weeks for no apparent reason.

It may just be bad luck but I doubt I will venture back there

I used to rate it 7/10 however it's now 2/10 and only 2 due to choice of BN plecs

Wow

Sorry to hear of all your losses, must have been heartbreaking.

We got some midsize albino BN's and they are still going well. It is strange that you've lost so many, and especially your sons.

Good will goes a long way, and in this climate no one can afford to alienate customers, especially with the t'internet being a great tool to tell potentially hundreds of prostective customers that they ain't that good.
