i have 1 common mature female longfin, but her fins are 'split' if you know what I mean. Especially at the ends. Is this something that will heal with time, or is it something that is common alon all longfin plecos?

Mostly common due to the fact the fins on a Longfin are far more delicate than your average common....

A bit of hustle and bustle with a male can easily tear a them but they will heal over time unless its constantly being battered by a male or another female....

Just keep an eye out on what's causing the tears in the first place.........

As Curby has said they should heal naturally given good water conditions but if the fins do show any sign of deteriorating then Melafix is a good treatment.

Happens all the time with my albino longfins. If one female misses out on laying when the other one does she'll get her fins torn up from tryin to get in the males cave. He doesn't like to be disturbed while on eggs. Even if it's another female for some reason...
