| Sorry to hear of your loss Because you only found it after it died it is hard to tell if it is bloat or natural decomposition. If it was bloat then there may be other showing signs, if there are then try them with some deshelled peas. |

| Check your other peppermints, see if any of them have a large stomach at all. It could be that this particular one was greedy, but usually that won't be the case. |

| could it have been bloat, or early signs of stomach bacteria, please keep an eye on this and if any more develope the same condition please post photos at the earliest convenience. |

| Have you fed any protein lately to the other fish in it's tank, if they pig out on say, a viformo tab(like one of mine did the other day), it will not cope and blow up n die over night, silly buggers, don't they know they can't digest too much.. Sorry to hear of your loss.. |

| The description " big lump on stomach " certainly sounds like bloat, when the stomach seems to be expanding downwards and becoming rotund then it's bloat.
