Hi everyone its been awhile since I have posted.Was actualy thinking about gettin out of breeding BN and only keeping a couple of my show tanks. But today I went to the fish store where I sell my babys and the owner says to me that he has Super Reds for sale and that I should get some and start breeding them for him.This is the first time he has ever been able to get them and dosnt know if he will be able to get them again .I live a city with a millon population and a good selection of fish stores and have never seen them befor or ever herd of anyone having them in stock .So having a good size credit at the store I bought 4 of these little guys and hope to get a pair.They are very red already at only about an inch and a half. Will post some pics as soon as I can.

Go for it mate, if you get them to breed they are a good seller. I would go for 6 or 7 if I were you, you would stand more chance of getting a pair.

I bought 4 and have 2 males and 2 females but they don't seem remotely interested in breeding. Could this be because they are in a tank with a breeding common male and his harem. Same story for my starlights although I'm not sure of the sexes there but it looks like at least one pair.
Should I get rid of the commons?

If you do not want them to interbreed, you best put them in a species only tank.

yeah i would get those super's into there own tank, you'll soon see them come into there own....(100l ish should do the trick)

male could become recessive if there are already breeding common's in there,

i got myself a male and a female......did not take them long to get down to it...dad was v.good and didn't kick any eggs

i feed the female up on a rotation of hikari algee wafers, nu era pleco pellets and courgette,
