Hi all,

I keep a couple of archer fish in with my bristlenose in the display tank and they like a bit of salt so i've used it for a while and my fish seem to thrive. I was wondering if you use conditioning salt in your tanks? I know the pet store guy recommended it for use in tanks with guppies (and both my grow out tanks have guppies and BN babies). Your thoughts?

Lee

Salt is generally not good in a bristlenose tank as it makes the water harder and less nice for the bristlenose. They come from a river system where the water is very soft and constantly flushed with large amounts of rainwater.

I would avoid it Very Happy
