I moved my 3 pepps into a bigger tank yesterday. I had to take every single plant and piece of wood out of the tank before I could find them T_T They're all the same age, the biggest one is the one that I posted awhile ago saying it was yellowish colour but my ipod camera is so crappy it looks the same colour as the others. I almost dropped my ipod into the bucket I had to hold it so close to the fish. The biggest one is about 6cm from head to tail according to the ruler I put in. It's probably not possible but does anyone have a faint idea of what gender they are? Also would they be likely to breed? Because I'm pretty sure they're all siblings.

Hi,lovely fish, they will breed even if they are siblings but this is not really a good idea as it can weaken the gene pool and is also possible to produce defects or deformaties and some that are not necessarily visible on the outside.Would be better to buy in a couple of unrelated ones once you know the gender of these ones.

I agree with kfenk looks like they are all males, maybe a good job if you want to breed them as Bristlenoses pointed out, now you can get some unrelated females.

Lucky, I was hoping they'd all be the same gender so I wouldn't get inbred fry. Only problem is finding a cheap female now T_T

Hi,it isn't a good idea to keep 3 males with 1 female. The males will need to be in a tank without other males really unless it is a very large tank but even then there could be problems. It is best if you are going to have more than 1 male in a tank to have 3 or 4 females to 2 males.I definately wouldn't keep 3 males in the same tank.Ideally you should keep one male with one or two females.Might be a good idea to sell one or maybe two of the males and get a couple of females.

| You could try posting an ad in the trading section, if your lucky there may be someone who has all females or is looking for new blood and will swap one or two for a male.

I'm not in a rush to get a female anyway, I'll probably just wait and see if anyone wants to trade or something later. I've got a 90 litre tank the three of them were in before anyway. The one they're in now is a bit less than 300 litres. Thanks guys
