PostSubject: I have a Question.   Thu Sep 22, 2011 10:11 am

Hi,I was just wondering what the largest amount of babies that has been produced by a single female bristlenose at any one time was? If people on here have had very large amounts, how many was it and how old/large was the parents?

Iv read people say they've had bn reach up to 14-15cm and I'm guessing a female that big would lay around 100+ eggs. But I'm yet to read proof of this. I'm sure doug would be able to properly answer your question.

The largest that i have ever had was 97, so basically 100. although, that is rare. I would say the average for a well practiced pair would be about 50-60. But there is so much that comes to it that there is no way of properly answering the question.

PostSubject: Eggs   Sun Sep 25, 2011 3:14 am

Hi there,

Well, my L144s had laid eggs twice, and the number of eggs (hatched and grown up, I count, only) was 68 and 61.
Brown Ancistrus produced roughly the same.

Best regards,
Mary
