I recently made a new pair from one common male and an albino female bristlenose, having only raised common bn fry before what can I expect from this spawn. They are about a week old now and some look a shade lighter but not visibly albino. Does the colouring develop with age or have i mainly got a full brown spawn. I know the albino gene is quite dominant so I was expecting a fair few albinos out of this pair.

Have you seen Dougs post about crosses HERE At a week old they should be showing their colouration.

If you can't see any albino then I'm guessing that they've only produced commons. If that's the case then I'm guessing the albino has the common gene. Most likely from having 1 common parent

That must be the case then. I don't mind either way, I have another albino bn I can pair him with to see what she produces.

| the albino gene is very very resessive.
the results of the cross always depend the genetics of the parents and its very hard to know that without doing endless crosses. _________________ Doug's Bristlenose eBook - The number one source of Bristlenose information and the most detailed breeding guide avaliable 3rd edition OUT NOW!!!
