Hey folks,

Not really sure where to post this Embarassed perhaps a mod could shift it if it's needed.
So I was wondering if anybody had any experience with culturing daphnia or water fleas as I think they are called?
further I was wondering if anybody would happen to know where to obtain a starter kit ( I am perth based ).
Many thanks,

Aussie guy

Not sure if it's true or not but I was told a cheap way of starting a daphnia culture. You go down to a dried up river/stream and take a hand full of sand. Add it to a bucket of rain water (or tank water) and you'll get daphnia and maybe some other little critters. Aparently the eggs lay dormant in the sand til it rains and the water flows again. Other than that you could ask your local LFS...

I have a small fishless pond into which I added a bag of daphnia from LFS and now have constant supply.
