My female BN has a rather large stomach and we believe her to be carrying eggs however we were after some advice from fellow BN keepers that have had some more experience.

To me she just looks like she's got a belly full of food. Hers stomach is rather dark

What colour should the stomach be when she's carrying eggs?

The male is interested as heck in the cave and constantly fans it, she has no interest and usually hides under one of the rocks in the tank.

Gutted that it looks just like food, she must just be a fatty

The eggs are yellow. Going by memory the bottom of the female is dark because of the stomach but she's usually a bit rounder than yours and her sides are yellow from the eggs. The albino longfin I swapped doug for a peppermint a couple wks ago had a fat belly. But it was just a male that had gorged itself on peas lol

If its like how the above 2 responses say, check her again before you feed them for the night and that should be a pretty accurate representation of how gravid she is.

Id say your's is maybe another 1-2 weeks away from being gravid......
