PostSubject: Sump pumps.   Fri Jun 03, 2011 4:19 am

Just interested to know what pumps people use in their sumps. My new sump which I am building will end up servicing 5-6 tanks will proberly need to be in the 8-10k litres an hour or more. Now the aquarium brand pumps are pretty expensive and dont seem to have the plumbing fittings that i require to divert split can control different outlet flows. Been having alook at the pumps at Bunnings (hard ware store) that they use in water tanks, recycled water systems ect which are suitable for clean/dirty water and have very impressive pump rates for the price at 8000lph for under 60 bucks and also have fittings for attaching hose taps ect. not sure on how these pumps would do in a sustained operation situation but at the moment im thinking its the way to go, want heaps of power and want to replace my 8 odd power filters with one might pump. Any comments guys?

I use these guys when ever i need to get pumps etc for uni. they have a great range and its all good gear. they deliver too.

the thing i like the most is the camparison tables they have. even if you dont buy from them those tables will really hemp out with picking the right pump for you.
