hey i was sondering if an albino bristlenose could safely go into a pond. Mainly, would the UV rays from the sun pose any threat to it since it's albino?

PS- i live in georgia and over the summer, the temps are warm enough to keep tropical fish outside in ponds. There are already rainbow cichlids in the pond that i'm thinking about putting the pleco into and they're doing just fine

i would first check its legal. its illegal to keep any non-native catfish in an outdoor pond in Aus.

if it is then i would then ensure that there is no way it will overflow into a local waterway. once you are sure those two are covered.

once thats covered, i reckon its fine.

So do you move all the fish inside for winter? As you said summer should be fine but they def would die in winter. Other than that like doug said, if it's legal then why not give it a try

right now it would be going into an aboveground tubpond on my patio. i recently built this tubpond and am planning on maybe just moving the whole pond inside for the winter

as long as the temps dont vary too much then why not...give it a crack!
