I've not tried it but I would imagine ripe banana would soon deteriorate in water.

I wouldn't for the simple fact that bananas are too yummy Very Happy Stick to the usual fruit n veg and your bn should be happy enough cheers

no joke, after the recent bad weather up on the Aussie gold coast bananas are fricking expensive over here...if i can afford them buggered if they are going to the fish!!!

Interesting idea, as they are a abundant in potassium. great for healthy breeding...A green one sounds like a good test..maybe just a really small bit at first...
I won't be feeding them tho, $$ like gold over here atm, thanks to the floods...
Then again I know someone who spent $3.50 per Cuc the other day... affraid

put a green banana in about 20 mins ago and my albino malel bristlenose eating away will keep you informed how quick it breaks down tommorrow

banana only about one third eaten ofter 24 hours still prety firm all fish not only BN seem to like it will keep an eye on it going soft

Mmm.

It's a very interesting thought regarding feeding banana. Probably the strangest thing I have fed my bristlenose is almonds. They jumped on them as soon as it hit the gravel.
