| Hello all. Can someone please shed light on this for me? Is it a Hypancistrus sp, or a Peckoltia of some kind? I think it may be a Clown Peckoltia, but I may be wrong. I re-homed it from a friend, who sadly passed away recently, along with what I think was a common ancistrus (blue eyes though?) and 2 gold Severum. |

| I'd say it would be sort of common so I'll go with L168= Butterfly pleco, Dekeyseria brachyura but I think it has been renamed from Zonancistrus brachyurus. J |

| Markings are a) not regular enough and b)not dark/bold enough for L168.
To add more info, it's from a shop who stock many different l numbers quite often. Although may not be rare, could still be unusual. |

| Now it's settled in and out of 'stress' colouration, I'm still not so sure. Has a lot of black markings, but not regular banding. Struggling to get pics as it wont come out much, but will add them when I can! |

| The lack of patterning can indicate inbreeding, although most breeders are pretty careful with plecos. Good luck with the pic...I see my Ls all the time, soon as i get the camera everyone hides. stupid fish _________________ Doug's Bristlenose eBook - The number one source of Bristlenose information and the most detailed breeding guide avaliable 3rd edition OUT NOW!!!
