| You may get away with two trios in a 3ft tank. Even if you put caves at either end of the tank there is the possibility that both males will want the same cave and spend most of the time fighting for it.
Give it a try if the males are happy then your OK if not you would have to think about removing a male or dividing the tank.

| I have about 6 or 7 caves in the tank and find they don't always use the same one. |

| I think you will find I do mention the stocking the females.
"1 male per 1.5 square foot of tank bottom and two females per male"
by that rule two trios in a 3ft tank. However, this rule can be bent with the addition of rocks and logs etc. will it be a species only tank or will there be other fish in there too? _________________ Doug's Bristlenose eBook - The number one source of Bristlenose information and the most detailed breeding guide avaliable 3rd edition OUT NOW!!!
