First of all, i would like to know about a few different BN species that are around, would anyone be able to do a mini list of around 5-10 different BNs?

Secondly, would anyone post pictures of L181, L182, and L183 plecos, i have had a lot of confusion over these, after searching around the internet whatever i type in the same pleco normally comes up for 2 of the numbers, for example, if i type in L182 pleco it might come up with the starlight BN, and then if i type L183 pleco it will also come up with the starlight, i would like a ID for each of these numbers.

Any help appreciated , hope this is not too hard to help with

If no one can gets picture then could you just tell me what they are?

OK so i found the starlight which turned out to be L182, but i can't find the other 2, especially since i don't know what im looking for

Here is what the internet says,

L181- Peppermint BN - found on planet catfish on your link in the end
L183- Starry night BN - also on planet catfish but does not say a number...

are these correct? if not would you be able to tell me what they are?

Well....... You aren't going to find a definitive answer on this due to the lack of standardized terms period. This is a pet peeve of mine, but it's not going to change in the foreseeable future.
The L-183, for example, is probably the most identifiable as it is the only one with a wide band on the tail and dorsal. Planet Catfish calls it "Starlight", but I have also seen it called white seam, and Starry Night. Even the scientific names are not a great help as it's been referred to as both A. dolichoperus and A. hoplogenys. ( plus all those terms can refer to other species too) Add to this the inventive and flowery names that some LFS owners and others slap on fish just to make them sound special and make a sale. It's enough to make a detail oriented nit picker like me run screaming into the night.
Planet Catfish is a great place to start though, they have excellent photos and proper species ID is a very important consideration on that forum. I think the best you can do is try to double ID your fish by the "cat-e-log" and common local terms, or be extremely detailed when you describe or ask about a fish.

It's an excellent point made by Amber, it can be confusing, my Peppermints (L181's) were described as Starlights (L183's) when I bought them.

its true, the naming of bristlenose is all over the shop, as is the entire loricariidae family. its a massive pain. only consolation for me is that in aus we have 3 species of brisltenose...common, peppermint and orangespot
