| When you put your new filter in did you keep running your undergravel  If you stopped using the undergravel then the tank has probably gone into a cycle because there will insufficient bacteria in the new filter. You need to test the ammonia and nitrate levels, sometimes when these are raised it can cause your water to smell. Can't see it being the terracotta pot, unless you left a plant in it  |
