I don't know if there is something wrong with my albino bristle nose. He appears to have a really swollen almost appears air filled abdomen (I say he because it has lots of forked bristles) He is the background I was away for holidays for 3 weeks and he was fine before i left and was only fed algae wafers the whole time i was gone. I did a small water change on the tank before i left ( Dec 14/10) and another when i returned ( Jan 2/11). I fed a moderate amount of Skeeter Larvae the day i got home a few hour before i did water change. He has been looking a bit "Skinnier" not as plump or rounded in the body over the last week is he sick? should I feed something different or do i need to separate him and treat with meds? here is a picture:

Try him with some cooked de-shelled peas, peas act as a laxative so if it's blloat caused by constipation it should help. If it's bloat caused by a bacterial infection then the Paraguard will be benificial. To much protein can cause bloat, possibly caused by the Skeeter larvae, how often do you feed them Had he been fed while you where away , feeding the Skeeter larvae on an empty stomach could have caused it. Try the peas, so long as he's still eating then it should be OK it when they stop eating it's serious.

Cucumber won't have the same effect as the peas, I don't know if you have fed peas before, but mine love them as much as the cucumber. Don't feed anymore of the larvae untill he looks better.

YEAH!! He is doing great. As mention i m moved him into the 1 gallon with a regular dose of Paragard and i kept him there for about 5 days I did 15% water changes every other day becuase the evening after I gave him the peas he was definatly NOT constipated anymore as evidenced by the PILE! under his bogwood branch. I kept same concentration of Paragard in the fill bottle. He was definatly not a swollen after the big poop session and he has retirned back to his normal active self. I acclimated him back to main tank over night last night and when i put him in this AM he was making his round this morning when i left for school. so THANKS SO MUCH
