| My pair of 183's have given me some babies . The first lot of eggs were kicked out without me realising. This is their secong go and so far (apart from the 5 that are in a fry saver that were kicked out just as they were hatching) so good. I can't wait to see them grow up and start colouring up. (fingers crossed) Sean |

| Thanks everyone. We're down to 4 in the fry saver but the daddy is still with the others in the cave. They're starting to darken up. Can't wait to see how these grow on.

| Starlight pleco's can be beautiful in the right light... I know some friends that keep them in an all out dark aquarium (i.e. they never put the light on) not sure how successful that is to breeding or keeping them..... I may be confused but I could have sworn some one told me a starlight grows upto 10inches though afterwards when I checked online most reputable sights advised about 3.9-4.5 inches... hmmmmm now I am left dazed and confused as I could have sworn they showed me one which was much bigger, so I am now wondering if they had one of their cat fish mis identified.... lol I like the starlight as they seem to be like a L071 peppermint with the white sparkles, though that is where the resemblance stays as the L183 gets a white seam occasionally I do believe... though could be corrected again...lol congratulations on your new off spring, hope they give you many years of fish keeping pleasure

| Sorry it's taken so long to reply and upload some pics. We had our first baby just before Christmas, so all been a bit manic. Well, from the first lot i i found another 2 in the tank, but lost one so have 5 left that are now about an inch and half. I also have another 8 from just before Christmas. They laid another load on Monday, but unfortunately i must have disturbed them, and they kicked the lot of them. Put them in the fry saver, but they're all gone bad. Why do you never have any Methelyne Blue when you need it! Anyway, here's some pics of a couple of the survivors of the second lot. |
