| I bought a male ancistrus and introduced it into my tank that already has a female ancistrus in it. The female has been very shy until now but since I introduced the male she has spent all her time chasing him VERY agressively around the tank. Should I have moved the bogwood and other tank decor when I introduced him so they could form their own territories? |

| It might be worth moving things around if the chasing continues.
How big are they?
Does the female allow the male to eat?
How big is the tank?
Do you have a specific breeding cave you intend them to use?
Things should settle as long as plenty of hiding places are available.

| It's a 60 cm by 30 cm by 45cm high. It has plenty of plants and hiding spaces. Apart from the the two ancistrus there are half a dozen or so goldfish fry that I'm over wintering
Here's a video of the female. Is she in fact an Ancistrus? She was sold to me as a wild caught L150 in a very reputable aquarium shop

| keep a eye on the female, sometime very rarely they just don't like the male or even set up... I had a female like that and no matter what I tried it just would not calm her, in the end I had to put her in a tank with more room and ensure no others were near her good luck ... |

| bit hard to tell from the movie but it does look like a common bristlenose, but a better pic of the colouration would be better.
is she settling down? _________________ Doug's Bristlenose eBook - The number one source of Bristlenose information and the most detailed breeding guide avaliable 3rd edition OUT NOW!!! LOADS OF ADDITION INFORMATION, PICS, DIAGRAMS AND BRISTLENOSE GOODNESS
