for the outside i use glass cleaner. I used to be a cleaner and have dirty great big drums of it

I make sure the lids are on nice and tight and only spray little bits to avoid overspray getting in the tank.
Inside i too avoid the magnetic cleaners for the same reason. I have one and it is in my angel tank giving them something to spawn on (but they always go for the filter

)
I use a razor blade for the inside of the glass. I got a holder thing from my local hardware store and use that, or just the blade. As long as you are carful not to scratch the glass it works really well, especially if you have issues with green spot algae or black algae on the glass like i do in my main tank

I also find that the blade works really well on the lids too
