| no they are just called peppermints in Australia - L182s, as they only grow to 9cm (3.5 inches), and no white edges on their fins which L183s (Starlights) have. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

| L182's grow to 9.8 " if noy larger in the wild....Ancistrus Puntactus,, http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=147
I have a pair of these and my male is nearly at the 9.8" mark....and my female about 7"......
L182's rarely have white tips when young..my first spawn had no white tips whatso ever....
The one's your on about may well be..L071, L181, L249..........
Thats my opinion... _________________ Dont Forget to hit the AquaRank Logo at the top of the forum page it looks just like this............ Click here to vote for Bristlenose WorldVisit BristlenoseWorld on Facebook.. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/group.php?gid=151223290672 |

| Yeah I was just going by something I read in a forum when I looked up 'starlight' bristlenose, and after reading more about Australian pepps its sounds like no one is certain exactly what L number they are, so I'll just describe mine...
- 9cm - All black with small bright white dots - Juveniles have white edges on their fins till they reach about 5cm - Both have bristles but the male has far more and only the male has bristles growing on top of his head.

| No sorry I meant that mine are definately not starlight because they are a lot smaller and that I'm not sure what L number the pepps in Australia are, and from reading different sources no ones can seem to agree on a specific L number for them |

| I think that peps are just peps in Aus. You can get lost for years in the L number system! They are def not starlight as they are much bigger and from what i have seen more bulky.
Peps are generally bigger than common but starlights get to 18cms on a regular basis i have been told. _________________ Doug's Bristlenose eBook - The number one source of Bristlenose information and the most detailed breeding guide avaliable 3rd edition OUT NOW!!!
