| noticed my male bristlenose guarding a cave and saw at least one wriggler. When would they come out of the cave? It is in a community tank and not sure if they have been eaten or not
Thanks |

| thanks, Its about that now. Funny thing is I am waiting for a larger female than the ones I have as I thought they were too small. Seems I am wrong. Am I right in thinking that they should spawn about every 6 weeks? |

like curby says every 3 to 5 weeks is the norm. theirs always some that never seem to want to leave the cave but the male will remove them when he starts to clean up the cave ready for the next spawn. |

They are out now in their own tank with dad. Looks like he is cleaning the cave now. Going to put the females in tomorrow but if only one is the mother of all the fry then would the other one be a risk to the fry? They are about 1cm now. I know to a lot of you breeding standard bristlenoses isnt a big deal but its my first spawn and I would like at least 1 to survive.
Thanks |

your 1cm fry will be perfectly fine around another female mine get on just fine its other species you need to look out for but if your tank has just BN's in there then you will be fine......_________________ Dont Forget to hit the AquaRank Logo at the top of the forum page it looks just like this............ | nice work.
Like mentioned above, they will breed like clockwork if you set the system up right. one thing to be mindful of is overworking the fish, especially the male. He wont eat while he is on the eggs and if you keep giving him gravid females, he will often loose condition very quickly, resulting in him kicking eggs out or worse, him kicking the bucket. |

| next question. If I put some of the babies (up to 3/4 inch) in a tank with some really small corydora fry will they eat them? or would they just leave em alone |

| How small are the fry? Generally at that size the BN fry should leave well enough alone. In fact i would be surprised that either would have a go at each other. I reckon you would be safe.
I reccommend not moving the fry til they are old enough to deal with it, which is normally when they are about 1.5-2cms so you shoud be fine. |
