| I got a Fluval U3, it's a new design (from them) that allows the filter to be place horizontal into the tank, it also has 3 settings for jet flow, top (with possible venturi attached), middle which is from top to bottom (In between the top and bottom jets) which jets water like a fountain rather than a flow, bottom, same as top but without venturi. I have horizintal in tank for maximum filteration on the middle setting, it's a steady current at the bottom and not too fast in the middle or top of the tank for the other fish. The filter also has three cansiters.. Here's a link to a vid (if your interested) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZbA6h1cCSI |

Deano, when you say 'sponge filter' do you mean like a corner filter (small plastic clear box with filter wool in it) that runs off an air line? |

| similar idea but sligtly different design. Sponge filters use the air-lift principal as well but instead of drawning the water through the courner unit, they draw it though a sponge.
