| Most imports from the Czech Republic really come from the same sources. Mislead on the sizes and often send incorrect fish altogether. For example we placed an order with a friend for longfin reds, and calico's were sent!!! Quite a difference. And when they do send them, they obviously have different ideas of what 4-5cm really is Unfortunately, as long as they get away with it they will. In all honesty, where possible, home bred fish are the best because they are more acclimatised to our waters etc. And as for "wild caught" in Peru etc, well, if you call bred in nets (like salmon) in a river makes them wild, then I think they should advise that is how it is. Or the other trick is to breed in tanks, and grow on in nets in the river. Either way they're not wild caught in my books. I also know that "some" LFS's sell wild when they know for a fact they ain't coz they've bought them from a local breeder that keeps quiet |
