Yesterday I bought a male brown longfin (which had apparently bred before) and a female L144, just coming into spawning size from my local aquatics shop.
I was told by a seemingly very knowledgeable shop worker that they would breed together.

Is this possible? She seemed to think that they would, and that I'd end up with a mix of brown and albino, some longfin some not. She seemed very keen and said that when they do she'll give me top dollar for the babies.

Surely this is too good to be true?

In your previous threads you've said you had an albino female, now you say it's a L144-
what colour are it's eye's ?
If they're red you probably have an albino common, if they are dark in colour it's "possible" you have a L144.
Now there has been a bit of conjecture as to wether the L144 is just a colour morph of the common Sp3 or
wether it is the true "species" L144.
Albino female x common male = too easy , probably will breed
L144 colour morph x common male= "could" spawn together if they are both Sp3
True L144 x common male= I'd be surprised if they spawned as they're different "species"
I hope that clears it up a little ( not a lot in Ancistrus world is clear cut)

It was a poss L144, had dark eyes. Only problem is, it is now dead Frickin Peckoltia likes to dig. L144 was under a rock, the digging caused a 'landslide' and crushed the poor thing! Only noticed as she'd been fairly active, then disappeared for a couple of hours.

Anyone got a female around Oxfordshire, UK?

Bit late now but for the future they could well have had babies. I've got a male (L144 Still not sure for certain) and a brown longfin female as a breeding pair.

The babies are never yellow though. Some are more yellowish than others but they are always brown
