how long do you boil for? (to make it sink)

til it sinks in the pot?

Ive seen remarks saying anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.

also does anyone think that 'cooking' it reduces the nutritional value to the fish?

I do not cook it or blanch it just put it in raw and attach to a fork or screwcumber

just give the skin a good was and do what jagtazam said pesticides are a killer

I think "blanching" just makes the Zuchinni a bit more palatable for your fish, as you have mentioned about
loosing nutritional value - that's why you don't boil the guts out for 10 minutes, I usually go the low boil for 1.5-2 minutes
and definately wash the skin- reason previously explained.

forks/knives/spoons.... been there done that and looking for a different way

I have never tried the boiling/blanching thing but it would be nice to be able to just throw a piece in and forget about it....as long as you dont put in more than the fish will eat before it goes bad.

i must say i hav done test when it comes to boilin this an to be honest the fish prefered the 1 that wasn boiled the 1 that was i took out an it looked un touched if you ask me by boiling it surely it must lose some kinda flavourin and maybe take some of the goodness out of it

I used to stick my zucc in a mug of hot water and stick it in the microwave for 3 mins to make it sink, but found they preferred it when I just stuck it raw onto a screwtop winestopper (unused of course)

I've got a load of spare lead plant weights (Plants alive always send me way more than I need) - I just stick that in the courgette and down it goes. They love it.

i always feed it raw...plus it last's longer before turning to mush......

If BN's can easily digest wood/bogwood and so on dont you think it would be very easy for them to digest a bit of soft veggie??

Thats my view anyway...

i feed raw too but i think there are better quality's of the stuff sometime it turns my water slighty murky , stay away from the cheap crap.
