| I have only just seen this thread and the quality of the tank is jaw dropping, my mate did one for a 3ft and i thought that was good this is 100 times better  |

| Deano, you have wet my appetite now for a bigger tank, and my first project when I move home later in the year.... I now have friends saving me polystyrene too lol for my first attempt at the beack ground which I will probably start before I get the tanks and then cut it to size..... Did you use any specific type of sealant and paint - re brand type, as some react with foam and polystyrene so not sure what to get..... might also make some and if it goes well do some for some folk on here...  regards LJ |

polystyrene is as cheap as chips 8x4 foot sheet from b&q £5.28
silicone sealer ha6 aquqrium safe.
any kind of tile cement as long as its not the water proof stuff. water proof stuff as antifungal agents in it and is no good for fish.
and g4 pond sealer to seal the cement. a 5ltr tin costs around £50
as for making some for other members go for it. but be aware these arnt made over night and take a fair bit of time to make.
have a dig through the forum as i did a thread on how to make these from start to finish. ive now made a few of these and they get more easy once you have made a few.
if you want a monster tank i have an 8ftx2ftx3ft deep doing nothing at the moment. |
