I registered with the site a few months back. I've been a fish keeper on and off for most of my life, moving into tropical for around 6 years or so. Inherriting a couple of bristlenose juveniles from a friend not knowing what they were i started my bristlenose journey. Only 1 juvenile survived and soon the remaining bristlenose (now named Homer because his non-stop munching) sprouted huge flexible bristles all over his nose, top lip and face. After some research i found out that he was indeed a bristlenose and a male at that. After reading many articles and books about this strange looking fish i decided that i would try and breed them. I got my LFS to specially order me a good sized female, when 'she' arrived i was a bit sceptical as she was quite bristly. After futher interrigation i decided that they were the experts and i should take their word for it. I am now sure that i have 2 males as they have shown no iterest in each other and they are both very very spikey. So now onto plan B which is to get a second tank for my original male and get one or two females and see what happens. I will be posting some photos soon of both males soon. Just one last thing is it normal for my orginal male Homer to change colour? he goes from dark green/brown to light green with bright yellow spots and various patterns in between????
