| Good afternoon everyone! Decided to join this group because my wife and I are going to start a 55 gallon and I wanted a pleco. Been doing some research on them and decided a bristlenose is what I wanted. For me they just look too cool not to have one.
I'm in no hurry to get the aquarium set up because I want to make sure I know what I'm doing. I plan on having live plants, and other fish like tetras, guppies, and hatchet fish if they will be compatable. I'm sure I will have a lot of questions I'd like answered before I actually buy the plants and fish.
Looking forward to learning as much as I can. |

| High Bwompus and welcome to the forum Bristlenose are probably one of the less demanding plecs you could ever want to buy(+ they look kool) 55 gal is a great size tank to start a pair up, they're quite forgiving as far as water quality is concerned ( neutral water is a good place to start ) and they pretty much get on fine with other tank mates- all though you probably will get the exception to that rule with tank mates showing them a little aggression sometimes. Happy browsing and posting. J |
